Enrichment Specialist - Broward
About The Position
The Overtown Youth Center (OYC Miami) is seeking a committed and creative Enrichment Specialist to support our enrichment programming at our Broward location: 1602 S 27th Avenue, Hollywood, FL 33020. This role is ideal for an individual who is passionate about youth development and delivering engaging, hands-on extracurricular experiences. As an Enrichment Specialist at OYC Miami, you will be responsible for planning, leading, and supporting enrichment activities for students across designated age groups, including Elementary, Middle, and/or High School. You will develop and implement structured programming while fostering a safe, positive, and supportive environment that encourages student growth, skill-building, and self-expression.
Requirements
- Background in youth development, education, recreation, or arts programming (preferred)
- Experience with media production, broadcasting, or creative arts (preferred)
- Strong organizational and classroom/group management skills (preferred)
- Experience working with youth in educational, recreational, or enrichment settings preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to engage and motivate children and teens in group settings
- Creative, energetic, and team-oriented mindset
- Basic knowledge or experience in at least one enrichment area (e.g., dance, sports, media, arts, production) is a plus
- Ability to maintain a safe, structured, and positive environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and facilitate engaging enrichment activities for youth participants
- Lead or assist with programs such as dance, sports/recreation, broadcasting, digital media, production, arts, and other creative outlets
- Supervise and ensure the safety of all students during program activities
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for youth development
- Encourage participation, teamwork, creativity, and personal growth among students
- Assist in developing lesson plans, activity schedules, and program materials
- Support special events, performances, showcases, and youth-led projects
- Monitor student behavior and provide appropriate guidance and mentorship
- Collaborate with other staff members to align enrichment activities with overall program goals
- Maintain accurate attendance records and basic program documentation as required
- Ensure equipment and materials are used safely and properly maintained
