At Maryhurst, our residential programs, community-based homes and our outpatient clinical programs all work to serve children in the greatest need. Our residential programs break the cycle of abuse using treatments that restore hope and successfully transition children to more permanent, community or family-based settings. Maryhurst's community and transitional living programs offer tools that prepare survivors of abuse and neglect for better, more hope-filled futures. And lastly, the team at Maryhurst Renewal partners with children, adults and families who are hurting to find the right combination of support, ultimately clearing barriers to success at home, at school, and in the community. Renewal provides one-on-one, group and family counseling in office, home or school-based settings. The Enrichment Activities Specialist will be part of an Intervention Team of highly trained and experienced staff whose primary task is to prevent serious incidents and to help children maintain in the residential and school settings. This is achieved through providing therapeutic activities and events for the children to participate in outside of the program milieu. The Enrichment Activities Specialist is responsible for supporting milieus on campus by planning and implementing therapeutic groups, activities, and programming aimed at enhancing individuals' response to treatment. The Enrichment Activities Specialist works within a team to assess individual client and group needs, develop an activities curriculum, as well as work with volunteers all while collaborating with the treatment teams and program staff. The goal of Enrichment Activities Support team is to provide and create positive outlets to foster expression, individuality, new skill acquisition and experience while processing through their trauma in various therapeutic settings. ALL APPLICANTS MUST BE AT LEAST 24 YEARS OLD. This position will be 5 days per week, with one weekend day required. The hours will be 12pm-8pm. All Shifts: Persons applying for these positions must be willing and able to perform "Safe Crisis Management", a technique used to restrain or transport a resident who has temporarily lost control of their behavior. Maryhurst provides extensive training opportunities for all employees who will have direct contact with the clients.
