About The Position
Located in the shadow of Washington, D.C., Immanuel Christian School prepares students to serve Christ in this competitive, global world of the 21st century. Our academic program is comprehensive, college preparatory, and taught within a Christian framework. Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree, preferably in education
- Work toward an Association of Christian Schools International teaching license
- Complete that which is required by A.C.S.I. to obtain a professional A.C.S.I. teaching license
- Regenerated by the Holy Spirit through personal faith in Jesus Christ
- Acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior
- Working knowledge of the Bible
- Complete studies in the Christian Philosophy of Education

Responsibilities
- Maintain a daily personal devotional life

- Share in leading faculty devotions
- Provide written teaching plans
- Develop a plan for evaluating student work
- Request instructional equipment and supplies
- Prepare materials to support instruction
- Communicate objectives and relevance of material

- Evaluate student understanding
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for the subject matter
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods
- Provide reference to other disciplines and life examples
- Utilize effective classroom and instructional management techniques
- Reflect a Christ-like spirit in dealing with student-teacher and student-student relationships
- Recognize the value of time-on-task
- Arrange the physical environment
- Maintain accurate and complete school records
- Maintain effective communication
- Communicate compassion and empathy to all students
- Reflect a Christ-like spirit in dealing with conflicts
- Attend all scheduled duties, programs, and meetings
- Serve on committees for evaluating curriculum, textbooks, etc.
- Uphold and enforce school rules and policies
- Maintain a professional attitude
- Maintain personal appearance in a professionally appropriate manner
- Model the spiritual expectations of the school
