About The Position

Duxbury High School is seeking exceptional candidates for the position of English Teacher (Long Term Substitute) starting on or about March 23, 2026 for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year. It is expected that this position will not become a permanent position. Duxbury High School provides a dynamic education that prepares students to meet, both individually and collaboratively, the challenges and opportunities of a global society. All students will pursue academic excellence, become active learners, and develop personal, social, and civic responsibility. The Duxbury High School community is comprised of 1500 students and 160 dedicated staff members. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university
  • Classroom management skills that support students' social-emotional learning
  • Ability to partner with families to meet the needs of all learners
  • Experience meeting the needs of diverse learners
  • Ability to plan and implement lessons that are aligned with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks - English Language Arts and Literacy for grades 9-12.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Citizenship, residency, or work visa required

Nice To Haves

  • Current certification from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education English Language Arts (5-12).
