About The Position

Join the Massachusetts Migrant Education Program (MMEP) as an English Language Instructor and play a vital role in supporting the academic success of high school-aged migrant students! In this part-time role, you will be responsible for providing individual and group instruction to advance your students' English proficiency and overall academic goals during academic and summer term sessions. You'll manage your own caseload, diligently track student attendance and progress, and maintain open communication with the OSY Coordinator regarding student needs and achievements. This position offers a chance to make a direct impact on students' lives and requires a flexible schedule, including evenings, to accommodate student availability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or at least two years of work experience teaching high school-aged English Language Learners.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is absolutely required.
  • Comfort and familiarity with learning and social media platforms like WhatsApp, Google Classroom, and Google Meet are essential, as instruction may involve blended learning tools.
  • A positive mindset
  • Strong communication skills across diverse cultural backgrounds
  • The ability to operate effectively with computer and remote learning technologies.

Nice To Haves

  • A valid Massachusetts Teacher Certification or TESOL Certification
  • Three years of teaching experience
