About The Position

HCC faculty are expected to contribute to the college community through committee work, on-going professional development, and collaborative curriculum development. A passion for teaching and commitment to student success are essential. English faculty are expected to teach ENC 1101 and ENC 1102 (Composition) and to contribute to the college community through committee work, on-going professional development, and collaborative curriculum development.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in English or Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in any combination of the following:
  • Applied Linguistics
  • Creative Writing
  • English
  • Grammar
  • Literature
  • Rhetoric and Composition
  • Technical Writing
  • Applicants with a qualifying degree from an educational institution outside the United States and Canada must submit a foreign credential evaluation from one of the members of the National Association of Credential Evaluations Services (website: www.naces.org).
  • To complete your application, you must attach a copy of your graduate academic transcripts from an accredited institution of higher education, showing attainment of at least the minimum qualifications.
  • You should include a complete online application, CV, cover letter, unofficial transcripts, and professional references.
  • The selected candidate identified for this position will be required to successfully complete a Level II criminal background check, which includes fingerprinting.
