Responsibilities Your Role: The Engineering Technician is responsible for executing engineering trials, supporting equipment setup, collecting technical data, and enabling efficient development of materials, tooling, and manufacturing processes. This role supports engineering, R&D, and manufacturing activities by preparing equipment and materials, executing trials, establishing and adjusting machine process parameters, documenting results, and supporting implementation of new processes and equipment. The Engineering Technician owns execution of engineering trials and ensures accurate, safe, and efficient implementation of engineering development activities. The Engineering Technician works closely with technical staff to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate execution of development and production activities. Responsible for executing engineering trials in accordance with engineering objectives, trial plans, technical direction, and safety Configures equipment and process conditions required to execute engineering trials and development objectives. Establishes and adjusts machine process parameters under direction of Engineering. Operates injection molding machines, thermoforming equipment, extrusion equipment, and auxiliary systems to support engineering and development objectives. Installs and removes molds and tooling safely using overhead cranes and lifting equipment. Works directly with tooling, equipment, and material suppliers to diagnose issues, identify solutions, and support engineering development objectives. Coordinates with suppliers to obtain technical support, replacement components, and modifications required for engineering trials and production. Collects, records, and organizes technical data during trials including process parameters, cycle data, observations, and performance metrics. Ensure trial conditions are executed consistently, accurately, and safely. Provides technical observations and feedback to Engineering to support process development and troubleshooting. Responsible for startup, qualification, and validation of new equipment, tooling, and automation systems. Responsible for implementation and validation of new processes, materials, tooling, and equipment. Supports development and documentation of trial procedures, operating procedures, and technical work instructions. Maintains accurate engineering, trial, and technical records in accordance with company procedures. Owns execution and technical success of engineering trials from setup through completion and restoration. Responsible for restoring equipment, tooling, and work areas following trial completion. Troubleshoots and diagnoses machine, tooling, material, and process-related issues impacting engineering trials, development activities, and production. Independently implements corrective actions and restores equipment and process functionality to execute engineering objectives. Coordinates with technical team to resolve complex equipment or system-level failures. Maintains equipment, tooling, and work areas in safe, clean, and operational condition. Maintains up-to-date training on equipment, materials, and technical procedures. Develops technical proficiency in equipment setup, processing, troubleshooting, and trial execution. Documents troubleshooting activities, root causes, and corrective actions to support organizational knowledge and continuous improvement. Performs other work-related duties as assigned. Requirements

  • Associate degree in engineering technology, manufacturing technology, plastics technology, or related technical field; or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, engineering support, plastics processing, or technical role.
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong hands-on technical ability.
  • Experience operating manufacturing or development equipment.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing and R&D environment.
