About The Position

Under the direct supervision of a Construction Project Manager, and general direction of a Project Engineer, serves as a construction inspector, office engineer, or materials testing technician, performing sub-professional engineering work in the field or in an office. Southcoast Region's projects are constructed from Southeast Alaska's temperate maritime rainforests to Southwest Alaska's chain of wind-swept grassy volcanic islands. Projects varying in size and scope from small, low-dollar-value projects to large and complex multimillion-dollar projects. The work demands are steady and/or fast-paced in a team-oriented atmosphere. Candidates can expect a steady workload in a variety of different transportation infrastructure improvement projects. The position may operate out of Construction Field Offices, working in the field alongside Construction Contractors as well as in the regional office or field office.

Determines objectives, sets priorities, and delegates work. Accepts responsibility for own actions and decisions. Complies with established control systems and rules.
  • Must possess valid driver's license to operate motor vehicles (AS 28.15.011)
