See how your contributions will help transform vision into reality: Position Overview: As a Shaker Test Technician on the NVH & Structures team, you will execute component durability tests in the Shaker Vibration Lab in support of new and current product development activities. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • 8+ years of experience in dynamic and structural testing (emphasis on vibration and fatigue of structures)
  • Proficiency with vibration and fatigue instrumentation (e.g. accelerometers, strain gages, force transducers, etc)
  • Experience with vibration data acquisition hardware & analysis software packages
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to work among cross-functional teams

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree in an engineering or technical field
  • Experience with strain gage installation and bridge configurations for product development testing
  • Working knowledge of engines and marine propulsion systems
  • Basic machine shop and fabrication skills
  • Familiarity with the use and operation of marine vessels

Responsibilities

  • Complete the setup and execution of shock and vibration tests for components and sub-assemblies using electrodynamic shakers.
  • Install and configure test hardware and instrumentation in accordance with test request instructions.
  • Perform data acquisition and processing steps necessary to deliver high quality results.
  • Support transducer calibration and test equipment preventative maintenance/repair needs for the electrodynamic shaker lab.
  • Document test information using notes and photos with sufficient detail to ensure repeatability of work.
