About The Position

Act as the liaison between Production and Engineering. Responsible for the resolution of production issues involving unit assembly, component fit, bill of material, and electrical/mechanical diagram discrepancies in order to refine product design and efficiency.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read gauges, perform basic testing, and utilize mathematical skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrates a high-level of problem solving ability.
  • Communicates effectively in written and spoken form.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Exhibits good decision making.
  • Presents a strong, confident, and decisive personality.
  • Demonstrates strong multi-tasking capability and excellent organizational skills.
  • Works effectively in a team environment.
  • Works effectively in a fast-paced high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to use power tools, such as drills, rivet guns, and shears.
  • Lift up to 50lbs.
  • Sit or stand for up to 95 percent of work hours.
  • Ability to work a rotating 4/10 schedule: 2-3 months of Monday-Thursday 6:00am-4:30pm with a 30 minute lunch break. 2-3 months of Thursday-Sunday 6:00am-4:30pm with a 30 minute lunch break.
  • Once hired, completion of 3 of the following courses (of the supervisor’s choosing) will be required: 1.) Computer Concepts and Application 2.) MS Office 3.) Intro to Engineering 4.) Intro to Excel 5.) Intro to Fabrication Lab 6.) Intro to Electricity

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant work experience in the HVAC industry preferred, but not required.
  • Completion of an HVAC program or other technical degree preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Consults with engineers and engineering management to solve production issues.
  • Manages daily activities required to support manufacturing.
  • Receives daily line calls and reports document discrepancies.
  • Confers with management and shop personnel to develop production and design standards.
  • Creates or revises component part specification sheets.
  • Reviews product design for company standards, engineering principles, and specifications.
  • Reads and understands technical manuals, instructions, and criteria.
  • Travels, when necessary, for cross training between AAON locations or product review at field test sites.
