The Test Technician I is responsible for performing technical tasks related to test setup and execution. This entry level role involves following clearly defined work instructions, using fundamental test equipment and software, and reporting test results based on documented pass/fail criteria. The Test Technician performs repetitive tests to ensure product quality and reliability and may work independently or under direct supervision. In this role, you will perform routine tests on spacecraft components, mechanisms, circuits, and systems while following documented work instructions and processes for test execution. You will utilize basic fixturing, test instrumentation, and test software to conduct tests and gather data, ensuring that test results are documented accurately and comprehensively. You will also verify test results based on defined pass/fail criteria and work under supervision to ensure accurate and consistent test execution. Additionally, you will perform repetitive tests to ensure product quality and reliability, adhering to general production floor practices, including safety, cleanliness, FOD, ESD, and test process protocols. You will demonstrate correct handling and storage requirements for all hardware and collaborate with team members to improve processes and achieve production goals.

  • Perform repetitive tests to ensure product quality and reliability, adhering to general production floor practices, including safety, cleanliness, FOD, ESD, and test process protocols.
  • Demonstrate correct handling and storage requirements for all hardware
  • Collaborate with team members to improve processes and achieve production goals.
  • Typically, entry-level 0-2 years of experience.
  • Familiarity with general best shop practices including PPE and shop safety requirements.
  • Ability to perform basic equipment setup and maintenance activities and display general mechanical aptitude and hand tool competency.
  • Able to use basic test instrumentation and mechanical fixtures.
  • Ability to learn 5S, FOD, and ESD awareness.
  • Ability to learn correct storage and handling requirements for all hardware.
  • Ability to work under supervision and perform repetitive tasks consistently.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to record and verify test results accurately.
  • Demonstrated progress towards formal training or education.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or testing environment.
  • Proficiency in using hand, test instrumentation, and power tools.
  • Basic understanding of electrical circuits and mechanical assemblies.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Basic technical skills and understanding of test procedures.
  • Ability to follow work instructions and clearly defined processes.
  • Experience with using special test equipment and software (training will be provided).
