We are looking for Engineering Technician to join a team working at a remote off-grid test site near the Nevada Gigafactory. In this role, you would continue growing the site infrastructure, build test equipment, and maintain the facility. In addition, the role would entail working alongside multiple Test Engineers supporting various programs. You would frequently setup, execute, and post examine destructive tests. As a result, you would help ensure that electric vehicles and energy storage systems are robust to high levels of abuse. Coordinate and execute complex destructive testing and gather data from a variety of sensors Build test equipment, such as a car crusher, replica building with fire extinguishing, battery chargers and power cyclers, electrical and thermal data sensors and acquisition, and continuous video recording Perform periodic maintenance on test equipment and data collection tools, ensure smooth operation when outside teams visit for tests Recognize and propose further improvements to test site and equipment Troubleshoot data acquisition systems and sensors Collaborate with other teams on sample build, preparation, and instrumentation Follow and edit standard operating procedures Safety driven attitude Mechanically inclined; able to work with basic hand tools Ability to perform tests on complicated systems Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software Experience with energy storage systems is preferred Prior experience in testing role is preferred Experience with data acquisition systems is preferred ME/EE experience; Able to use MCAD or ECAD software is preferred Experience with CAN bus is preferred
