About The Position

American Trailer World (ATW) was formed from the merger of Big Tex Trailers and American Trailer Works, establishing itself as a leading and diversified manufacturer, retailer, and distributor of professional and consumer-grade trailers, parts, and accessories across North America. The Engineering Technician role at ATW is crucial for tooling fabrication, product launches, and supporting robotic automation projects. This position involves high-level fabrication skills, interpreting engineering drawings, operating various machinery, and ensuring product launch timelines are met through tooling installation, upgrades, and maintenance across company facilities. The technician will also be involved in checking parts for tooling validation and providing guidance to welders and leads.

Requirements

Perform assigned tasks in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
Experience with hands-on prototyping (fabrication, welding, etc.) and designing and building tools, jigs, and fixtures.
Minimum 5 years welding experience or AWS certified.

Nice To Haves

Robot operator experience preferred
2-3 years in industrial technologies preferred

Responsibilities

Utilize high-level fabrication skills with materials like tool steel and aluminum, employing Mig, Tig, and Stick welding techniques.
Decipher engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding of tooling.
Apply basic knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Operate brake press and plasma table.
Ensure product launch dates are met from a tooling perspective.
Travel to all company facilities to install, upgrade, and maintain tooling.
Check parts for tooling validation.
Correct and coach welders and leads as needed.
Apply knowledge of trailer manufacturing.
Apply knowledge of welding equipment and install welding equipment.
Wear Weld Shop PPE.
Assist Robotic Automation projects as needed.
Operate Forklift/Manlift.
