About The Position

We are seeking a highly capable and proactive Manufacturing Engineering Team Lead to manage day‑to‑day engineering operations while contributing directly as a hands‑on Manufacturing Engineer. This position leads a team of Manufacturing Engineers, Process Engineers, and Technicians supporting critical activities within our State College facility. The team plays a key role in enabling the Ultrasound Probe Supply Chain organization through robust processes, effective troubleshooting, and operational execution. In addition to leading and prioritizing team activities, the Manufacturing Engineering Team Lead will provide direct engineering support for the SVG product lines, driving continuous improvement, equipment uptime, process stability, and product quality while maintaining compliance to all regulations and internal requirements. This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and is an on‑site role with less than 15% travel. This is a 2nd Shift (1:00pm - 10:00pm). Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; sponsorship is not available.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical Management, or a related field or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading technical teams, projects or managing day‑to-day engineering operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of manufacturing processes, data analysis & trending, equipment, and regulated documentation practices.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple functions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and manage a multidisciplinary team to provide daily manufacturing and process engineering support.
  • Set and manage day‑to-day priorities while maintaining a strong floor presence to ensure rapid issue response and smooth production operations.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA QSR (21 CFR 820), ISO 13485, and internal quality system requirements, including documentation accuracy and change control.
  • Partner with Quality Engineering to support NCRs, CAPAs, risk assessments, audits, and other quality‑system activities.
  • Lead or support process validations (IQ/OQ/PQ) and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, throughput, and cost.
  • Provide direct manufacturing engineering support for SVG product lines, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and process optimization.
  • Develop team capabilities through ongoing coaching, mentorship, and fostering a culture of ownership, problem‑solving, and right-first‑time execution.
  • Drive cross‑functional collaboration to support production needs, resolve technical issues, and align operations with business objectives.
