About The Position

Post Consumer Brand’s cereal plant (previously known as Malt-O-Meal) located in Tremonton, Utah has an opening for an Engineering Support position. This position is targeted to Engineering students interested in developing career related experience while attending school. The schedule is flexible with 15-20 hours/per week during school and the potential for full time hours during the summer. The Engineering Support position is focused on supporting our key Operational Excellence initiatives. A large portion of the work is focused on real-time issues associated with production and optimizing line performance. This person will work very closely under the direction of a Manufacturing Engineer and Continuous Improvement Manager.

Requirements

• Requires completion of at least 2 of 3 years of an accredited Engineering curriculum.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
• Proven innovation and creativity.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment with multiple functional groups.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to achieve results and execute multiple simultaneous projects.

Responsibilities

• Apply standard scientific techniques in the analysis of production lines from raw materials to finished packaged products to provide manufacturing systems that meet quality, food safety, environmental, and cost expectations.
• Support the identification and solution of cost savings issues, product/packaging change issues, equipment modifications, manufacturability issues, etc., using appropriate scientific principles.
• Work on the development and implementation of long-term improvement programs tied to rates, efficiencies, yields, and costs of manufacturing systems.
• Provide technical support for product modifications, process improvements, and process troubleshooting.
