About The Position

The purpose of this position is to lead and supervise a team of system maintenance engineers on the NASA Kennedy Space Center (KSC) FL KPLSS II contract. This role will be responsible for the upkeep, performance, and reliability of engineering systems and associated operations. The role ensures that all operational and maintenance activities meet technical, safety, and quality standards while supporting organizational objectives and project timelines within KPLSS II, NASA, Space Force, and partner contractors.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in relevant field of Engineering from an ABET accredited college.
  • At least 5 years of job-related experience, or equivalent job-related experience.
  • Good communications and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.
  • Position may require travel.
  • Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
  • US citizenship is required for restricted area access.
  • A driver's license is required to independently travel onto and around KSC property.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and mentor system maintenance engineers, ensuring performance goals and project timelines are met.
  • Provide week to week workload planning, task assignments, and schedule management within their engineering team.
  • Review and approve subordinate work for technical accuracy, quality, compliance with safety, engineering standards, and internal metrics.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate objectives, progress, and safety requirements.
  • Support employee development through coaching, technical guidance, and identification of training opportunities.
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and performance appraisal processes for team personnel.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the team.
  • Manage Ground Support Pneumatics Console launch support requests, coordinate and schedule console operators for launch activities, and train and mentor new operators.
  • Support preparation of Operations and Maintenance documentation that identifies the need for, cost evaluation of, specifications for, activation of, functional and safety analysis of, and operator training for propellant equipment and processes.
  • Provide scheduling, status, and coordination functions within KPLSS, the Government, and other contractors for assigned projects.
  • Act as a lead on less complex tasks and responsible for a portion of a design or section of an analysis or design review.
  • Support development of technical proposal and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work.
  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
