About The Position

The Engineering Supervisor (ES) is responsible for providing the overall leadership and direction for the engineering teams. Location: 111 Stockyard Rd, Statesboro, GA or 923 W Oglethorpe Hwy, Hinesville, GA Territory Covered: this position is responsible for both the Statesboro and Hinesville Headquarters. The successful candidate must live within commutable distance to those locations. Please note that this job will require up to 25% travel. Relocation benefits are available if needed. The Engineering Supervisor (ES) will lead the engineering team in a Safety Excellence environment with a focus on learning how to work safely and how engineering decisions impact the safety of peers and coworkers. The ES will work to build a culture where team members feel included, valued, and free to speak up. The ES is responsible for ensuring the development of team members, communicating business goals to the team, and providing performance management to the team. The ES will provide leadership and guidance for planning, engineering, design, and construction of all activities in the area and will help monitor and guide area-wide Distribution functional budgets, compliance, and system maintenance to ensure reliability. This includes investigating extended or significant outages as well as timely addressing customer issues that arise. The ES will provide guidance to the team in dealing with customer issues (internal and external) and will communicate with upper management about customer issues. This position will work closely with the other functional departments in the area to deliver best in class, customer value, reliability and cost as well as supporting external community activities. The ES will also serve in various SERP roles within the area and will be required to participate in SERP events across the Southern System and events off system as required. This position will also have primary responsibility for developing and executing the region wide maintenance and abnormal plan. Education - Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field is strongly preferred. Other Requirements - Valid Driver's License. - Travel is sometimes required, up to 25% of the time. - Must live in/near or be willing to relocate within reasonable distance to Austell or Smyrna. - Relocation assistance available if needed. Job Description This position has been identified as a role that will require the use of a Georgia Power fleet vehicle. The following will be required if you are selected for this position: Must have at least one year of verifiable driving experience (Must hold a valid driver’s license for the class vehicle to be operated. Driving permits are not typically considered a valid driver’s license). Must have no revocation of driving privileges within the 36 months prior to application, no convictions of major traffic violations (DUI, hit and run, reckless driving, etc.) within the 12 months prior to application, or any pending charges for a major traffic violation at the time of application. Must consent to a continuous monitoring of your Motor Vehicle Record

Requirements
