About The Position

The Engineering Supervisor (ES) is responsible for providing overall leadership and direction for the engineering teams and distribution systems within the Lawrenceville Operating HQ territory. Location: 1453 Duluth Hwy, Lawrenceville, GA Territory Covered: this position is responsible for the Lawrenceville Headquarters. The successful candidate/s must live within commutable distance to those locations. Please note that this job will require up to 25% travel. Relocation benefits are available for this position, if needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field is strongly preferred.
  • Proven commitment to Safety Excellence.
  • Proven performance management abilities.
  • Proven leadership abilities.
  • Formal leadership experience is strongly preferred.
  • Proven record of dealing effectively with customers.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Georgia Power Transmission and/or Distribution is preferred.
  • Experience working as a Distribution Engineer is preferred.
  • Experience managing capital and O&M budgets is a plus.
  • Experience with storm response and planning is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Power Delivery operations and processes preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Cross-functional, cross-company experience.
  • Experience with TCMS, ARCOS, JETS, CSS, ARMS, or DISTIEW.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to articulate complex issues simply.
  • Knowledge of Distribution operations practices and procedures preferred.

  • Lead the engineering team in a Safety Excellence environment with a focus on safe work practices and the impact of engineering decisions on safety.

  • Provide performance management to the team.
  • Guide planning, engineering, design, and construction activities.
  • Monitor and guide area-wide Distribution functional budgets, compliance, and system maintenance.
  • Investigate extended or significant outages and address customer issues.
  • Communicate with upper management about customer issues.
  • Work closely with other functional departments to deliver customer value, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Lead restoration efforts during area storm events and participate in SERP events across the Southern System.
