ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Installation and Development Services (IDS) Division: Participate in the various phases of plan review, construction inspection, and acceptance processes of privately-funded (donated) water and wastewater infrastructure projects including water and sewer connections Become familiar with the regulatory requirements for water and sanitary sewer infrastructure that may be applicable through laws, ordinances, regulations, and standards

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in an engineering or construction management program with coursework relevant to the major duties and responsibilities
  • Requires a valid driver’s license
  • Knowledge of fundamental engineering principles applied to project planning, design and/or construction of water and wastewater infrastructure
  • Skill in communication, both verbally and in writing
  • Skill in Microsoft Office Suite products and outputs
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and organize work and complete assignments with supervision
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment
  • Ability to read and interpret design plans
  • Ability to interact courteously and cooperatively in teams
  • Ability to learn hydraulic, geospatial information system, and project management software packages such as: ArcPro, AutoCAD, Infoworks ICM, and e-Builder
  • Ability to apply fundamental engineering principles to project design or planning

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to design, installation or maintenance of water and sanitary sewer (wastewater) infrastructure and/or project management of infrastructure projects
