Requirements
- Must be currently enrolled in an engineering or construction management program with coursework relevant to the major duties and responsibilities
- Requires a valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of fundamental engineering principles applied to project planning, design and/or construction of water and wastewater infrastructure
- Skill in communication, both verbally and in writing
- Skill in Microsoft Office Suite products and outputs
- Ability to plan, prioritize and organize work and complete assignments with supervision
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment
- Ability to read and interpret design plans
- Ability to interact courteously and cooperatively in teams
- Ability to learn hydraulic, geospatial information system, and project management software packages such as: ArcPro, AutoCAD, Infoworks ICM, and e-Builder
- Ability to apply fundamental engineering principles to project design or planning
Nice To Haves
- Exposure to design, installation or maintenance of water and sanitary sewer (wastewater) infrastructure and/or project management of infrastructure projects
Responsibilities
- Participate in the various phases of plan review, construction inspection, and acceptance processes of privately-funded (donated) water and wastewater infrastructure projects including water and sewer connections
- Become familiar with the regulatory requirements for water and sanitary sewer infrastructure that may be applicable through laws, ordinances, regulations, and standards
