About The Position

Since 1974, Shermco has become North America’s largest and fastest growing NETA-accredited electrical testing organization. Requirements

  • 2+ years of electrical testing estimation experience preferred (not required).
  • Be able to read and understand one-line diagrams.
  • Knowledge of using Salesforce.
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and highly motivated.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, written and oral presentation skills and solid understanding of profitability and other financial measurements.
  • Strong sales skills including effective negotiation skills, ability to successfully interact with key customer decision makers and influencers, and ability to prospect new customers and forecast future business.
  • Advanced computer skills with the following software: Excel, Word, Adobe, Bluebeam, Microsoft Outlook.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Must be able to demonstrate technical knowledge and consultative skills.
  • Strong time management, planning, organizing and prioritization skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, achievement oriented and self-motivation.
  • Strategic thinking and strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Cost Analysis & Estimation: Responsible for analyzing project specifications and requirements to prepare precise cost estimates and customer proposals within set timelines.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of all job aspects, including labor, materials, vendor support, freight, and equipment.
  • Vendor Coordination: Identify the best prices and lead times from existing and potential vendors necessary for project success.
  • Perform daily reviews of Quote Queues to ensure all quotes are submitted on time.
  • Ensure customer specifications are met by reviewing quotes for compliance.
  • Documentation Review: Read and interpret plans, proposals, and other documents to create competitive bids.
  • Collaborate with production departments to confirm hours and materials, incorporating insights from past jobs.
  • Conduct post-job evaluations to validate bid accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Partner with sales and operations to set prices for competitive opportunities based on gross margin targets.
  • Assist territory account managers with sending quotes to customers on their behalf (as needed).
  • Update quotes and assist with change order proposals for additional work scopes as needed.
  • Cost Tracking: Monitor and analyze project costs to pinpoint areas for improvement and optimize resource allocation.
  • Continuous Learning: Remain informed about industry trends and company services by engaging in educational opportunities.
  • Ownership: Take responsibility for achieving departmental and organizational objectives.
