Join us at Caterpillar Inc. as an Engineering Project Team Leader within the Building Construction Products (BCP) Engine Systems Team. In this dynamic position, you’ll lead a talented team of engineers, guiding them through New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives and Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) projects. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring our products meet and exceed expectations in terms of scope, quality, speed, and cost across various machine/engine platforms. Requirements

Degree requirement: bachelor’s degree in engineering or materials science.
Technical Excellence: Demonstrates strong expertise in engine and installation design, applying analytical skills and design software to resolve complex technical issues related to quality, speed, and cost. Shares technical knowledge across teams to drive effective solutions and continuous improvement.
Project Management: Proven ability to perform complex assignments, directly related to either NPI or CPI and able prioritize workload, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills are required.
Willing and able to collaborate with international teams in various time zones.
Product Design and Development: Experience with construction products or heavy equipment design and applications. Proven ability to execute a robust design process taking designs from concept to production fully validated to meet all requirements.
Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Effectively communicates complex technical information and solutions to internal and external customers for problem resolution. Leverages hands-on experience to diagnose and resolve issues as needed.

Nice To Haves

Deep understanding of construction product design processes, standards, and cost management.
Strong knowledge of Skid Steer Loaders or Compact Track Loaders.
Strong knowledge of engines and engine installation design.

Skillfully interpret and convey customer, management, and team input, both verbal and non-verbal, to inform project decisions.
Represent the team as a confident spokesperson in high-level meetings with various levels of management, articulating project progress and requirements.
Play a key role in shaping the multi-generational product strategy, aligning program scope with long-term goals for sustained success.
Offer invaluable technical expertise across diverse projects, contributing to their overall excellence and innovation.
Spearhead and coordinate essential processes within the design team, including thorough design reviews, NPI initiatives, resolution of factory and product reliability issues, and proactive cost management and reduction efforts.
