About The Position

The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of project management to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality expectations. This role requires significant project management experience, with the ability to develop project plans, scope of services, schedules, budgets, and execution plans. Building strong collaborative relationships and leading the team effectively are essential qualities for success in this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management.
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering and project management in the heavy industrial sector.
  • Demonstrated capability managing capital projects over $10M Total Installed Cost.
  • Experience in tracking and planning projects, and leading them to successful completion.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with varying priorities and schedules.
  • High levels of drive, energy, and resilience with the ability to take initiative.

  • Excellent leadership, communication (written, verbal, and presentation), and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in diverse teams and influence others to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and knowledge of front-end engineering and detailed design processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of project management for assigned projects.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality expectations.
  • Develop project plans, scope of services, schedules, budgets, and execution plans.
  • Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships internally and externally.
  • Manage capital projects exceeding $10M Total Installed Cost with accountability for cost, schedule, and stakeholder management.
  • Lead projects and programs to successful on-schedule and within-budget completion.
  • Self-manage daily and weekly activities to meet project and management requirements.
  • Re-organize project tasks and priorities to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend necessary budget changes.
  • Manage client relationships in complex situations and delegate authority appropriately.
  • Communicate expectations and requirements to team members and structure accountability.
  • Travel to various client sites in and outside the Richmond, VA area as required.
