As an Engineering Project Manager within TJX Corporation's Logistics Engineering team, you will be the leader in designing, procuring, and building the material handling systems that support TJX's distribution centers Responsibilities may include designing material handling equipment utilizing AutoCAD, along with installation coordination, vendor assessments, procurement, flow analysis and any additional ad-hoc projects. Work with DC business partners to address operational concerns within the Distribution Centers. Using a flexible/process improvement mentality to improve existing systems and procedures, increase efficiency, add capacity, and resolve problems from issue identification through resolution Develop short- and long-term capital strategy to support DC volume growth Designs and develops various Distribution Center engineering projects within all divisions of the TJX Companies. Coordinates all aspects of each assigned engineering project from inception through the final stages of the project, including design, vendor sourcing and selection, installation, financial management and startup. Designs material handling/storage systems that enhances productivity and space utilization. Travels to the Distribution Centers to supervise projects. Researches all historical data available, evaluates existing systems to project critical timing sequences, projected construction costs, Distribution Center space needs, systems expansion and subsequent equipment needs. Recommends vendors, based on quality of product/proposal and costs. Provides extensive guidance to vendors during detailed design process. Ensures all material handling equipment installations are performed in a timely manner to minimize disruptions to the Distribution Center or other company operations. Attends on-site meetings during installations to ensure projects are progressing within the established timelines. Coordinates the work of multiple vendors/contractors during installation process. Investigates "groundbreaking" technologies to evaluate whether or not new concepts are applicable or beneficial to The TJX Companies Addresses operational concerns within the Distribution Centers to improve existing systems and procedures to increase efficiency and capacity of existing systems and to solve problems. Provides feedback and guidelines to Architects and Project Managers regarding new projects and building upkeep Provides extensive knowledge and advice to Maintenance departments within the Distribution Centers. Answers questions regarding equipment problems. Contacts vendors in order to replace/repair equipment in an expedient manner. Performs special projects as assigned Mentors Project Engineers Leads capital projects up to $100 million or more in total cost Who We Are Looking For: You. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably Industrial or Mechanical) 6+ years' of Engineering & Project Management experience Experience with material handling systems Distribution Center/Retail experience preferred. Experience with AutoCAD Design Understanding of work methods analysis Detail oriented, strong organizational and conflict resolution skills Ability to balance multiple projects and changing priorities and work independently as well as in a team environment Project Management experience leading teams Negotiation/influencing skills and strong communication skills 40%-60% Travel is required

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably Industrial or Mechanical)
