What this job involves - We are seeking a highly skilled BMS Systems Manager & Network IoT Support Led to manage and optimize Building Management Systems (BMS) across a diverse commercial real estate portfolio while leading enterprise-level network support initiatives for IBM CIO IoT operations and infrastructure migrations. This dual-role position bridges facilities technology and enterprise networking, requiring technical expertise, cross-functional coordination, and leadership capabilities to support complex operations across multiple geographically distributed sites from a centralized location. This integration ensures the CAD responsibilities complement the existing BMS and network infrastructure management duties while maintaining the remote operational focus of the position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or extensive related field experience with enterprise BMS.
  • Expertise in BMS platforms such as Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Siemens, or Schneider Electric.
  • Strong networking background (Cisco, Versa, or equivalent enterprise platforms).
  • Proficiency with networking and security implementations for large-scale enterprise operations.
  • Ability to self-manage large-scale remote network migrations with minimal disruption.
  • Familiarity with centralized NOC operations, cloud-based management solutions, and automated monitoring.
  • Background in supporting enterprise environments (IBM or similar tech organizations preferred).
  • Understanding of facilities operations including cooling systems, power distribution, and environmental monitoring.
  • Experience coordinating multi-site technical deployments without direct onsite presence.
  • Strong leadership skills, able to manage cross-functional teams and deliver results in complex project environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities, especially under pressure with remote support.
  • Exceptional communication skills for interfacing with client leadership, technical teams, vendors, and on-site contacts.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (BRICsCad, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar platforms) with experience in creating technical drawings for building systems
  • Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings to support BMS and network system integration planning

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications: IT Network Certification, BMS vendor credentials (Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Siemens, or Schneider Electric.)
  • Experience integrating and full-scale documentation of IoT systems with building technologies for remote management.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity is the best practice for Operational Technology (OT) and IT in distributed infrastructures.
  • Prior involvement in managing BMS and large-scale network operations within commercial real estate or corporate facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Building Management Systems (BMS) Design, implement, maintain, and enhance integrated BMS platforms across multiple facilities.
  • Oversee HVAC controls, lighting systems, fire detection, access control, and energy management systems to optimize operational efficiency and occupant comfort.
  • Manage vendor relationships for BMS hardware, software, and service contracts, ensuring adherence to building codes, sustainability goals, and compliance standards.
  • Integrate environmental monitoring, cooling, and power systems into BMS platforms for full operational visibility.
  • Network Infrastructure & IBM CIO Support Provide technical leadership for enterprise LAN/WAN architecture, routing, switching, wireless infrastructure, and IoT deployment.
  • Lead network migration projects in partnership with IBMs CIO, ensuring minimal downtime and seamless system transitions.
  • Collaborate on network infrastructure requirements, cybersecurity protocols, and compliance documentation.
  • Multi-Location & Cloud-Based Support Support distributed network and BMS operations across multiple locations using cloud-based monitoring and management tools.
  • Coordinate with local contacts, facilities teams, and contractors during implementation while maintaining full project oversight.
  • Maintain and update HSSE, MEP related CAD drawings throughout the portfolio
  • Develop and maintain standardized CAD templates and drawing standards for consistent documentation across all facilities
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure CAD documentation accuracy during system implementations
  • Manage CAD file version control and maintain centralized drawing repositories accessible to facilities teams and vendors
  • Provide support to the teams of facility managers, onsite technicians and IBMs CIO network engineers.
  • Coordinate projects between facilities, IT, and vendor partners to deliver integrated technology solutions.
  • Maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, operating procedures, and troubleshooting workflows.
