We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead a team of .NET engineers responsible for building and maintaining core backend services that power Deluxe's global media pipeline. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing project delivery, fostering team growth, and contributing to architectural decisions for highly available, scalable, and secure services. You will work closely with product managers, DevOps, QA, and other engineering teams to ensure timely delivery and operational stability of mission-critical backend services.

  • Lead and manage a team of .NET engineers delivering cloud-native backend systems and services.
  • Guide the design, development, testing, and deployment of scalable .NET applications and APIs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, and technical direction.
  • Oversee sprint planning, task estimation, resource allocation, and delivery tracking.
  • Serve as a technical mentor and provide career development support to engineers.
  • Foster a culture of engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and accountability.
  • Collaborate with DevOps to ensure CI/CD pipelines, observability, and operational readiness.
  • Ensure code quality and stability through code reviews, automation, and performance monitoring.
  • Take ownership of system reliability and production support for the team's services.
  • 2+ years of experience managing engineering teams (5+ developers) in a fast-paced environment.
  • 8+ years of experience in backend development, with deep expertise in .NET Core / .NET 6+.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and system integration patterns.
  • Proficiency in SQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL systems.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, service-oriented architecture, and messaging (e.g., SQS, Kafka, RabbitMQ).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), including compute, networking, identity, and monitoring.
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and modern CI/CD tooling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to collaborate across teams and levels.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex systems at scale.
  • Experience working in the media, content distribution, or streaming industry.
  • Exposure to front-end technologies such as React, Blazor, or component libraries like Material UI.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures and serverless computing models.
  • Prior experience with performance tuning, observability, or platform reliability engineering.
