Merge is looking for an Engineering Manager to manage our expansion engineering team. Expansion engineering is a backend team that powers the core sync engine at the heart of Merge, which is how we process data from all the different sources we integrate into.

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience managing and hiring engineers on teams ranging from 5-10 reports, with 6+ total years of experience in fast paced engineering roles
  • Experience managing a high-performance team of both junior and senior talent in fast paced, startup-like environments
  • Familiarity with technologies, programming languages, and frameworks, such as Django, Python, React, Postgres, SQL, AWS, RDS, Docker, and Kubernetes
  • Experience planning team roadmaps and goals as a product-minded engineering leader
  • Ability to balance priorities, tradeoffs, and cross-functional initiatives working closely with product, finance, engineering and other organizational departments to drive successful business outcomes

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage one of our core engineering teams of 5-10 engineers, creating a culture of quality, excellence, and growth
  • Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, sales, finance, leadership, and other teams to execute company goals
  • Build and grow the roadmap for your team while considering strategic direction, resource allocation, organizational alignment, and more
  • Grow the team through hiring and internal career development
