About the position

The Engineering Manager will work closely with the Project Engineer and Energy Manager to oversee maintenance, asset management, and engineering projects. The role involves leading a team to ensure technical performance and asset management, aiming for maximum value creation. The Engineering Manager will collaborate with the Plant Leadership Team and global functions to drive reliability, efficiency, and capacity of existing assets.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the maintenance coordinator and their technicians, the Asset Manager and their team of engineers, and the Maintenance Planner and their team.
  • Lead the team in asset management, ensuring execution, reliability, and digitalization to maximize overall effectiveness.
  • Focus on reducing energy usage and costs, maintaining buildings, infrastructure, and utilities.
  • Lead capex and lump sum projects for the site.
  • Drive reliability of equipment and implement standard processes for greater efficiency and capacity.
  • Manage the majority of the P&L budget for the site.
  • Develop and deploy a roadmap towards excellence in asset management, optimizing costs and unlocking additional capacity in the factory.
  • Set and adhere to the budget for all asset and facility-related expenses.
  • Build a high-performing team and formalize long-term development and succession plans.
  • Manage capex projects in coordination with suppliers, global functions, and operational streams.
  • Hold accountability for the engineering master plan and execute line and asset-related technical improvements.
  • Lead standardization of maintenance procedures, asset life cycle management, and digitization journey.
  • Manage the capabilities development plan of the team, aiming for world-class cost control and zero breakdowns.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, environmental, and quality measures.
  • Lead the site's carbon footprint reduction program and reduce energy costs through optimal use of utilities and technology.
  • Participate in technology platforms and share equipment-related knowledge to foster standardization and efficiency.
  • Oversee the execution of maintenance for utilities equipment and facilities, ensuring safety and compliance with standards and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering or similar.
  • 5+ years' experience leading and managing large teams.
  • Experience in engineering management, project management, and food manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in lean, TPM, Six Sigma, or similar operating systems.
  • Experience in Project Portfolio Management.
  • Knowledge and experience with digital systems supporting maintenance and engineering.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft and Google applications.
  • Fluency in local language and advanced English.
  • Understanding of various types of equipment, systems, and facilities.
  • Knowledge of food product manufacturing and operational protocols (e.g., GMP, HACCP).

  • Experience leading maintenance and engineering departments.
  • Technically astute with a solid understanding of engineering and maintenance best practices.
