About The Position

Core Molding Technologies is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead plant engineering operations and support program management, tooling, and continuous improvement. In this leadership role, you'll oversee technical teams, support customer launches, and drive engineering excellence in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field
• 5+ years of engineering leadership in a manufacturing environment
• Strong background in tooling, molding, or automotive assembly
• Knowledge of Lean, 5S, FMEA, Control Plans, and problem-solving methods
• Proficiency in GD&T and customer specification review
• Skilled in project management, safety programs, and team leadership
• Familiarity with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 systems
• Excellent communication and decision-making skills

Nice To Haves

• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing
• Background in composites manufacturing
• Experience in mid-volume operations with a mix of automation and manual processes

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Engineering team and daily activities across technical functions
• Drive improvements to reduce scrap, downtime, and operational waste
• Participate in cross-functional management meetings and plant performance reviews
• Oversee engineering decisions in tooling, processes, layouts, and program launches
• Absorb program management responsibilities for key molding customers
• Support customer and internal teams with technical problem-solving
• Evaluate technologies, staffing, and project plans for feasibility and cost-effectiveness
• Prepare departmental budgets and capital project proposals
• Promote continuous improvement, safety, and adherence to IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards
• Mentor engineers, support co-op/intern programs, and build technical bench strength
