About The Position

A Hotel Maintenance Manager oversees all maintenance operations within the hotel, ensuring the property remains safe, functional, and visually appealing. This role manages a team of maintenance curators, coordinates preventive maintenance programs, and partners with hotel leadership to support an exceptional guest experience.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
  • Prior experience in hotel or commercial facility maintenance
  • Possess/Able to obtain Certified Pool Operator Certification
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Positive attitude with a ‘team’ mentality
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems under pressure
  • Ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations and respond in a calm manner.
  • Ability to handle guest issues in a professional and tactful manner
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to climb, stand, walk for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to routinely lift/push/pull up to 75 lbs

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily maintenance activities and work orders across guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house, and hotel grounds.
  • Lead projects assigned by Chief Engineer
  • Assign room, mechanical, equipment, and building preventative maintenance to the engineering curators and conduct inspections to ensure that preventative maintenance is completed to hotel and brand standard.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor engineering curators and communicate any performance issues to Chief Engineer.
  • Ensure accurate records of repairs and inspections are being completed.
  • Manager vendor relationships for specialized repairs, inspections, and service contracts.
  • Manage the hotel's pool, including ensuring it is cleaned daily, in full working order, adjusting chemicals and cleaning filters, and completing maintenance request forms and record logs.
  • Work closely with housekeeping, front desk, and operations to prioritize maintenance needs.
  • Communicate effectively with hotel leadership regarding project status, risks, and recommendations.
  • Assist the Chief Engineer with schedule creation and payroll.
  • Respond in a courteous manner to all guest questions, complaints, and/or requests to ensure strong guest satisfaction.
  • Remain calm and alert especially during emergency situations and heavy hotel activity. Plan and implement detailed steps by using experienced judgment and discretion.
  • Operation of heavy machinery.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis for any shift including nights, overnights, and weekends.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
