About The Position

Our ideal Software Engineering Manager will be an integral contributor to the current and next generation of our app. You'll be working on multiple projects to continue making us the #1 HR Software for SMB business. Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software development
  • 2+ years of real-world, demonstrable technical leadership
  • Object-Oriented development experience
  • Proficient in integrating AI capabilities into Saas products.
  • MySQL/MSSQL - both query language and database structure/design
  • Version control software, preferably Git
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in documenting processes and monitoring performance metrics
  • Knowledge of best practices related to data storage and access at high volume
  • Services development in a language like PHP, Python, Java, or C#, and a desire to work in PHP (7.4+)
  • Experience in React, HTML, XML, JavaScript, CSS
  • Experience in developing Software as a Service (fast release cycles that still support an existing user base)
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related degree or formal training in a related field

Responsibilities

  • Manage 1-2 scrum teams of Software Engineers. 6-15 individuals
  • Demonstrate leadership and patience through regular coaching and mentoring in individual and team settings
  • Consult with Product Management, UX Designers and Tech Leads to explore and deliver software solutions
  • Manage and maintain your team’s execution roadmap, including a grooming pipeline and delivery expectations
  • Show and maintain accountability in team and individual performance (yours and others) in sprint goals and quarterly Objectives and Key Results (OKRs)
  • Participate in department hiring efforts
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of our systems and processes
