About The Position

US Farathane, LLC. seeks an Engineering Manager in Austin, TX to assist Program Managers in launch of new products by working with tool, manifold, and secondary equipment suppliers to ensure optimum performance. Evaluate new molds and materials and provide feedback, documentation, and recommendations. Manage a team of professional engineers. Manage engineering process sheets, water diagrams, and hot runner diagrams for all assigned jobs. Manage operator instructions for secondary equipment. Optimize new and current processes, oriented to saving cost and train people to improve our OEE and Quality areas. Responsible for continuous improvement by exploring better ways of doing things (i.e. mistake proofing, work cell flow, cost cutting etc.). Manage robot programming and integration of automation system. Help develop end of arm tooling. Set up work cells and workplace layout to maximize efficiency. Develop and coordinate the maintenance strategy for the automation equipment and robots including Fanuc and ABB robots and schedule the PM service for all the tools. Assist Maintenance with problem communication and controls. Assist Process Technicians by taking on all process problems not solved at that level. Responsible for the overseeing of all training on processes, robots, assembly equipment, etc. Resolve engineering problems systematically using appropriate problem-solving tools and techniques, including DOE, and capability studies. Responsible for following all internal and OSHA required safety procedures. Adherence to all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a foreign equivalent
  • At least two (2) years of experience as an Automation Engineer or a substantially similar position utilizing all of the following: Fanuc Robot programing and troubleshooting; PLC Programing; PLC communication protocols; reading and understanding mechanical, electrical and pneumatic schematics; AutoCAD; vision system; plastic welding technology for automotive components; 8D analysis method; APQP and PPAP; robot calibration and mastering; Factory Talk Studio; PLC Allen Bradley Studio 5000; Telsonic welding system; and MAG control center
