As an Engineering Manager, you’ll be responsible for setting strategy, for leading your team to deliver results consistently and sustainably, for growing and developing talented engineers, and for cultivating a healthy, results-driven culture on your team. Vanta’s business and team are growing quickly, and it’s essential that we lay the foundation for a successful organization. You’ll leverage your past experience and play a crucial role in laying the groundwork for a successful engineering organization, contributing to developing foundational processes that enable our entire team to scale — onboarding, interview loops, career frameworks, execution processes, and more. Our business has found incredible product-market fit and has monetized effectively since the day we signed our first customer. Requirements

  • Have 3+ years of professional experience in a full-time engineering leadership role managing teams of 6-8+ engineers.
  • Be a strong decision maker who effectively balances ambiguity, available data, speed, and quality.
  • Have experience managing and upleveling senior individual contributors.
  • Have a proven track record of guiding product and long term technical strategy.
  • Have participated in developing or driving engineering-wide initiatives (recruiting processes, career frameworks, etc) in a prior role.

  • Build a best-in-class engineering team. Coach, mentor and create an environment where your team can do their best work and deliver for the business.
  • Set direction and guide technical strategy, ensuring that your team is delivering long-term value aligned with Vanta’s business priorities.
  • Work closely with Vanta’s customers and customer-facing teammates to build and ship high-value products and infrastructure.
  • Play an integral role in laying the foundation for Vanta’s engineering culture.
