Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of engineering or maintenance experience in hotels, resorts, or commercial buildings.
  • Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life-safety systems.
  • Ability to lead, train, and support engineering teams across multiple properties.
  • Excellent diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repair skills.
  • Understanding of OSHA regulations, building codes, and safety standards.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, manage projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with CMMS/work order systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including on-call rotations, evenings, weekends, and emergencies.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical or vocational training in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, or related fields preferred.
  • EPA, CPO, HVAC certifications or related technical credentials strongly preferred.
  • Previous supervisory or lead role in engineering preferred.
  • Experience with building systems, preventive maintenance, and safety compliance required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Complex Chief Engineer with daily oversight of engineering operations across assigned hotels.
  • Assist in supervising and directing engineering teams, ensuring consistent performance and standards.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Respond to maintenance requests from guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
  • Conduct property walks to identify maintenance issues, safety risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Assist in coordinating vendor services, inspections, and contracted maintenance work.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies; ensure proper storage and usage.
  • Assist with maintaining compliance with OSHA, fire/life safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support preparation and execution of PM programs, work orders, logs, and documentation.
  • Help coordinate capital repair projects and equipment replacements across the complex.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to engineering team members.
  • Uphold cleanliness and safety standards in mechanical rooms and the engineering shop.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Complex Chief Engineer or leadership.
