Requirements

  • Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have prior experience in a managerial position.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software and Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint Word Processing software.
  • Must have knowledge of inputs, outputs, raw materials, waste, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing the manufacturing and distribution of goods.
  • Must have general knowledge of equipment, tools, mechanical devices, and their uses to produce motion, light, power, technology, and other applications.
  • A general knowledge of design techniques, principles, tools, and instruments involved in the production and use of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, models, and mechanics.
  • Experience or Training in 5's, Lockout & Tagout training, Basic Plant Safety, General Machine Operations.
  • Based on competence and need, training or knowledge in Hazardous Waste, ISO 14001 Awareness, ISO 14001 Internal Auditing, ISO 14001 & Beyond, ISO 14001 Top Management, HazWaste/Operator Program Training, HazWaste Manifest and Core Program Training, HazWaste/Crisis Management Training.

Nice To Haves

  • A Master's degree in a technical field
  • Experience working in a Germany-based (international) organization
  • Bilingual German or Spanish
  • Knowledge of NX, or Catia V5 modeling, and/or CAE/simulation software.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and coordinates activities of Engineering Department to design, process, project, develop, produce, improve, and test components, products, systems, and services, while achieving optimum use of workers, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Resolves problems using solutions that involve new techniques, technologies, or concepts.
  • Analyzes technology trends, human resource needs, and market demand to plan projects.
  • Confers with management, production, and marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products.
  • Forecasts operating costs of the department and directs preparation of budget requests.
  • Advises management of new developments which may affect profit, schedule, costs, customer relations, and/or inter-departmental relations.
  • Provides direction and example for interpretation and application of company policies and procedures to the engineering activities.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of new technologies which may improve operations, and develops recommendations accordingly.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as requested or required by management.
