Role Summary The Engineering Manager (EM) leads a product-aligned engineering team responsible for delivering end-to-end capabilities, not just features. This role balances people leadership, technical judgment, and execution, with a strong emphasis on outcomes, system health, and leverage creation. Engineering Managers at Duetto are accountable for: Building high-performing, resilient teams Shipping high-quality software aligned to business outcomes Improving the long-term economics of the platform (cost, reliability, velocity) Adopting AI-accelerated development practices to amplify team effectiveness This role collaborates closely with Product, Architecture, Data, and Platform partners across globally distributed teams. Domain Focus You will manage a full stack team delivering a best in class product focusing on groups. The team owns multiple systems including complex UI pages, microservices, and forecasts. Systems are enterprise grade software with high SLA and quality requirements. UI is React (JS/Typescript), with a Java Spring monolith, Mongo DB, Spring Boot microservice with Postgres (RDS), all on AWS. This is a player/coach role. You will partner with the team’s technical lead to ensure that the team delivers to a high technical bar. You will also partner with the team’s product manager to find execution paths (the how) to delivering (the what). Keys to success: You are interested in hospitality. Hotel revenue management is a deep domain - you don’t need to join with domain expertise but impact in this role requires gaining it quickly. You are good at getting stuff done. Strong cross-functional communication and the ability to get things done in a dynamic environment. You are outcome focused. Individuals and interactions over processes and tools.
