About The Position

The Engineering Manager will be responsible to provide Engineering support for ongoing and new manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will possess a demonstrated “hands on” experience using KPIs to effectively and efficiently lead a team of Mechanical Engineers in in the following areas: Design, Internal/External Manufacturing, scalable process documentation, skilled organizational and project oversight. This position will design and validate non-standard/fully custom designs prior to release to manufacturing as well as support new product initiatives. The Engineering Manager will collaborate and plan with various departments and utilize proven communication skills among various personalities and interdepartmental relationships. This role will provide support and guidance for the implementation and maintenance of business software tools such as Driveworks, Solidworks, and ERP system. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering required, MBA preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of related Engineering Management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with SolidWorks.
  • Proven expertise and application of structural calculations for sheet metal and structural steel.
  • Proven experience of contributing to a high performing team.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional projects.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and collaborative approach to work.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with Driveworks is a plus
  • Implementation/Maintenance of ERP systems is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provides structural calculations, drawings, pricing, and feasibility analysis of custom jobs and modifications of standard products.
  • Work with internal and external fabricators on questions/details/clarifications.
  • Develop Production/Fabrication drawings based on existing and improved designs.
  • Fabrication support through fixturing, process improvement suggestions, etc.
  • Support the accuracy of Bills of Materials (BOMs) for the ERP system and shop floor production.
  • Support New Product Development through reverse engineering, knowledge of materials/processes for manufacture, including costs, limitations, etc.
  • Supply product specs and supplier feasibility for the Purchasing Team to obtain materials for new products
  • Develop and facilitate technical product knowledge and document appropriately
  • Oversee modernization of product installation instructions
  • Ensure proper function of Configurator
  • Execute plan to cross-train members of the Engineering Team to be SMEs on Configurator
