About The Position

Trimm, Inc. has been designing and making industry-leading products for more than 100 years, and we are seeking an innovative Engineering Manager to work alongside and lead a talented team of engineers. Trimm manufactures DC power distribution panels and accessories for the telecommunications and data centers industry. In this role, you would lead a multidisciplinary Engineering team as well as oversee the IT department. As a member of the leadership team, you’ll shape the direction of the company while reporting directly to the President. Requirements

  • BS or MS Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science, Embedded Engineering or equivalent.
  • 7-10 years of technical product development experience with at least 2-3 years in management or leadership role.
  • Familiarity with telecommunications standards including GR-63, GR-1089, GR-78, and UL62368-1.
  • Experience with parametric modeling or electronic design automation software such as Autodesk Inventor or Altium Designer.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a talented team of design engineers who are responsible for developing new products. Concepts may originate from the sales and marketing department or from working directly with customers.
  • Mentor engineers across various disciplines, including embedded software, mechanical design, electrical engineering, and standards development.
  • Participate alongside the design engineers in the creation of previously non-existent products or modification of existing products, including product line extensions.
  • Communicate with the sales department to work with customers to refine technical specifications that can lead to the creation of novel industry solutions.
  • Coordinate testing to various industry standards (e.g. GR-63, GR-1089, UL62368-1) to ensure reliability of products and work with sales and field service staff to ensure that end-users are satisfied.
  • Coordinate and direct projects, setting the agenda for meetings and timelines for completion of steps in the project and monitor the progress of project team members.
  • Oversee information systems programs, plans and procedures.
