About The Position

The Engineering Manager oversees a group of engineers and technicians responsible for developing manufacturing and assembly processes, reinforcing all engineering standards, and providing leadership/support to the team. Maintain the proper functionality of a product and the efficiency of cost. Design and operate integrated systems for economically competitive and high-quality products and ensure cohesive work between manufacturing departments and the engineering team. Trident Maritime Systems is a global leader in providing innovative solutions for maritime and defense industries. Our Custom Alloy division in High Bridge, NJ, specializes in manufacturing high-quality seamless and welded pipe and tube solutions, as well as custom fabrications for critical applications. We serve government and commercial clients. For government, we work on military and defense contracts requiring precision and reliability. For commercial clients, we provide custom-engineered solutions across various industries. This dual focus allows us to take on diverse, high-pressure projects. Unlike mass production facilities, we create large, custom fittings tailored to specific needs. Our plant features large machines for heavy-duty work in a traditional manufacturing environment. It can be hot, cold, or dirty, but we prioritize safety and provide tools and training to ensure success.

Requirements

Must be a U.S. Citizen
10 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Able to read and understand customer specs and drawings including ASME/ASTM, Aerospace (AMSO & Military specs) Some NDE knowledge.
Leadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
Planning: an ability to strategize and grow the engineering department over a 1-2 year time span.
Technical skills in forging/fittings management, quality assurance, and estimating.
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, knowledge of SolidWorks and estimating programs
Experience in running and maintaining value added projects.
Speak, read and write English.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Education and/or Experience: B.S. in Mfg. Engineering or 7 years min. work related experience
Supervision/ Management Experience: 7 Years min in work related experience

Responsibilities

Hire, train, and mentor a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy.
Develop, implement, and refine metal manufacturing processes to enhance product quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. This includes optimizing tooling and work instructions.
Oversee projects related to new product development, process upgrades, and equipment installations, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
Ensure all manufacturing processes meet quality standards and industry regulations. Collaborate with quality assurance teams to address and resolve quality issues.
Provide engineering support for troubleshooting production problems, and evaluate new equipment, tooling, and technology to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
Review customer orders, drawings, specifications & tech. data in order to generate MITP, checklists, MET, or MPS as required.
Collaborate with design teams to ensure products are designed for manufacturability.
Develop and manage budgets for engineering projects and initiatives and optimize resource utilization.
Work with other departments, such as design engineering, production, and quality assurance, to ensure smooth operation and new product introduction.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and apply lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and enhance productivity.
Utilize technical expertise to support estimate project scope, time and costs for manufacturing quotes.
Ensure that all activities are conducted in a safe manner and that the company health, safety, and environment policies are adhered to.
