Position Summary White Drive Motors and Steering is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our manufacturing and process engineering functions. As a key member of the Plant Leadership Team, this role provides strategic direction, technical oversight, and full accountability for engineering performance across the facility. The Engineering Manager leads the Senior Process Engineer and all Process and Manufacturing Engineers while driving continuous improvement, capital investment strategy, operational efficiency, and long-term manufacturing capability. This is a department leadership role with business ownership — not a hands-on individual contributor position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering required.
  • 12+ years of progressive manufacturing engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of direct leadership experience managing engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated experience managing capital projects and departmental budgets.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to influence plant-level decision making.
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and manage the engineering team, including performance management and succession planning.
  • Establish and execute engineering strategy aligned with plant and corporate objectives.
  • Own and manage the engineering budget, including capital forecasting and cost control.
  • Lead capital investment planning and execution from justification through implementation.
  • Drive measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity.
  • Oversee tooling strategies, automation initiatives, and equipment optimization.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Finance.
  • Provide executive-level reporting on engineering performance and capital initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards.
