About The Position

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Engineering Manager to lead our team in Houston, Texas. This role is crucial for managing the entire engineering lifecycle-from design and development to manufacturing support and commissioning of substations and power distribution systems across various voltage levels. The successful candidate will drive technical excellence, foster innovation, and ensure all products meet the highest standards of quality, and industry compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) preferred; Master's degree preferred.
  • Over 15 years of direct, relevant experience in substation engineering and power distribution or other relevant area
  • Deep technical knowledge of high voltage electrical equipment and distribution systems.
  • Demonstrated success in coaching, developing, and managing high-performing engineering teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • This is a full-time on-site function.
  • This is an ITAR facility and applicants must be a US Citizen or a lawful permanent resident.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong understanding of industry standards (IEEE, NEC, ANSI/NEMA, IEC) would be valuable

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of electrical and mechanical engineers and technicians in manufacturing engineering and test engineering
  • Manage resource allocation, project schedules, and engineering budgets to ensure on-time and within-scope delivery of all engineering projects.
  • Establish and continuously improve engineering processes, design standards, and documentation control.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement within the engineering department.
  • Serve as a primary technical point of contact, collaborating with Sales, Marketing and other groups within the company.
  • Provide technical leadership and support for manufacturing to resolve production issues and improve processes.
  • Work with the Quality team on Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for field failures and implement design corrections to enhance product reliability.
  • Collaborate with the commercial team to provide technical input for proposals, customer specifications, and project scope definition.
