  • Recruit and develop exceptionally talented engineers to build a diverse, high-performing team focused on web engineering excellence.
  • Partner with Content Strategy, Product Marketing, and Design teams to deliver seamless digital experiences on elastic.co.
  • Be a 'player/mentor' for the team, actively participating in technical discussions about web architecture, performance optimization, and development methodologies.
  • Build roadmaps and lead prioritization; establish structured project management processes for a team transitioning from reactive to strategic work.
  • Implement effective project communication plans and intake processes to eliminate context switching.
  • Foster a culture of engineering excellence, collaborative decision-making, and continuous improvement.
  • Elevate engineering standards, tooling, and processes to match Platform Engineering team capabilities.
  • 3 or more years' experience leading diverse teams of software engineers as a line manager (people manager).
  • You care deeply about web performance, user experience, and the quality of digital products your team ships.
  • Solid understanding of modern web architectures, content management systems, and web infrastructure.
  • Strong ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to accomplish shared business goals.
  • Knowledge of computer science fundamentals and web technologies to guide your team's technical decisions.
  • Experience with content management platforms and headless CMS architectures.
  • Familiarity with web performance optimization, SEO, and analytics platforms.
  • Experience working with Marketing and Product Marketing teams on digital campaigns and web initiatives.
  • Background in internationalization, localization, and multi-language web platforms.
  • Experience as a hands-on web engineer with modern JavaScript frameworks and web technologies.
