Engineering Manager, UX Foundation

About the position

Etsy is seeking an Engineering Manager to join the User Experience Foundation initiative. This role involves working in a hybrid iOS, Android, and Web organization alongside teams focused on Design Systems, Accessibility, and the core user experience of the Etsy product. The position is full-time and reports to the Senior Engineering Manager. In addition to salary, the role includes eligibility for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and competitive benefits that support employees and their families.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 5 to 8 Web, iOS, or Android engineers focused on Design Systems and Accessibility.
• Collaborate across Product, Design, and Engineering to deliver high-quality user experiences.
• Work with other leaders within engineering to develop and evolve engineering processes and best practices.
• Prioritize, scope, plan, develop, and deliver projects at various completion stages.
• Serve as a coach, mentor, and advocate for the engineers on your team.
• Participate in the end-to-end recruiting process, hiring, and onboarding exceptional engineering talent.
• Foster a culture of learning, collaboration, and thoughtful delivery on your teams.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience directly managing engineers, including providing leadership, mentorship, feedback, and investing in their career growth.
• Experience with modern web technologies such as React or Web Components or with delivering Apps at scale.
• Familiarity with Design Systems, Accessibility, or redesigns/re-architectures.
• Excellent coaching, mentoring, and development skills for engineers.
• Highly collaborative and enjoys working with other squads.
• Skilled communicator and leader, able to adapt style and detail level to effectively deliver messages.
