The Enterprise Effects Division (EED) drives integration of Aerospace’s strategic capabilities across the national space enterprise. The division leverages a broad array of engineering disciplines against a dynamic portfolio of programs, customers, and national challenges. EED spans the capability lifecycle from concept and architecture design to performance assessment to application of space-enabled mission effects. The Surveillance and Navigation Architecture Performance Department (SNAPD) in the Integrated Performance Subdivision aspires to be the premier force advising the evolution of national security and civil space enterprises, leveraging our modeling and simulation (M&S) expertise to evaluate architecture performance. SNAPD supports our customers in requirements definition/verification, analyses-of-alternatives (AoA), and end-to-end performance evaluations of customer space-based architectures across various mission areas. We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a dynamic team applying advanced M&S capabilities across select critical mission areas, including geospatial intelligence, signals intelligence, space surveillance, positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) systems, and space protection to support defense, intelligence, and civil space capabilities. This full-time position requires 100% onsite work in El Segundo, CA, Colorado Springs, CO, or Chantilly, VA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with demonstrated experience in aerospace, astronautical, or electrical engineering, computer science, physics, operations research, mathematics, or a related field of science or engineering.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in SNAPD functional areas that may include demonstrated experience leading analysis teams, coordinating complex technical tasks among team members, and/or translating customer needs into viable instructions for analysts.
  • Exceptional time management and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to balance multiple priorities and maintain schedules while fostering productive work relationships.
  • Proficiency with one or more software languages that may include Python, C++, or MATLAB
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically, less than 10% time.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance, issued by the U.S. government.
  • U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

  • Knowledge across Intelligence Community or U.S. Department of Defense business practices, acquisition policies, or space mission portfolios.
  • Experience working in partnership with multiple Aerospace program offices, Aerospace technical experts, and customers.
  • Prior management or leadership experience in hiring, mentoring, training, or development of personnel
  • Proven aptitude for fostering collaborative environments across organizational boundaries.
  • Experience in identifying, prioritizing, and resolving technical and/or personnel issues
  • Experience in developing or leveraging analysis software that integrates computational techniques with department functions.

  • Guide the development of state-of-the-art modeling and simulation capabilities through strategic planning and resource management.
