About The Position
Genius Sports is seeking an Engineering Manager for its Streaming Platform, a pivotal role within the Data Engineering Team. This position is designed for a seasoned professional who will lead a team of engineers in modernizing our data platform to enhance our betting, broadcast, and fan engagement offerings. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of data management best practices and have extensive experience in real-time streaming of high-volume transactions across various domains. The role requires expertise in low-latency data ingress, transformation, and distribution at scale, as well as a strong background in database design and architecture, particularly in distributed and cloud-based environments. As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and evolving our data collection tools. This includes partnering with our Sports Tech and Data Collection teams to develop tools that collect real-time sporting event data, rationalizing existing data collection tools, and modernizing our data pipelines. You will identify and analyze various data sources, design and maintain a robust big data pipeline, and implement processes for data cleaning and transformation to ensure consistency and compliance. Additionally, you will lead the design of our data warehousing architecture and collaborate with stakeholders to make data available for consumption through various mechanisms. Leadership is a key component of this role. You will build, coach, and lead a high-performing team of platform and full-stack engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and quality. Your ability to manage resources effectively and ensure the team has the necessary skills and time will be crucial in delivering high-quality data products that support the organization. This position is based in our New York City office, located in the heart of midtown Manhattan, providing a vibrant and inspiring work environment.
