The Engineering Manager works with colleagues in Product Development to deliver designs and specifications for products that satisfy customers while balancing stakeholder interests. The Engineering Manager provides technical leadership and expertise to a team of engineers focused on system design and development and system issue resolution. In addition, the Engineering Manager will be responsible for resource forecasting and allocation, budgeting, collaborating with Platform Teams, and managing the performance of others.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver designs and specifications for products that satisfy customers while balancing stakeholder interests.
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise to a team of engineers focused on system design and development.
  • Manage system issue resolution.
  • Forecast and allocate resources.
  • Manage budgeting.
  • Collaborate with Platform Teams.
  • Manage the performance of team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field is required.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience.
  • Deep and broad knowledge of concepts, methods and terminology in product design and vehicle integration.
  • Proven track record managing high-functioning teams in product design environments.
  • Demonstrated skill and experience in problem solving (root cause analysis).
  • Expertise in project management.
  • Demonstrated general understanding of computer-aided design (CAD) tools.
  • Substantial hands-on experience producing high-value measurable results on complex projects.
  • Broad expertise in engineering calculations and analysis, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and datum structure development.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree (technical or MBA) is preferred.
