About The Position

We are looking for an Engineering Manager who is passionate about streaming to lead the Player Platform Solutions team. The team's core responsibility is ensuring the operational excellence and quality of the player, which includes test development and automation, quality assessment, developer productivity workflow improvements, infrastructure tooling, monitoring, and release management. A smaller subset of their work involves collaborating with internal and external partners on platform-specific and foundational playback needs, such as device security, client-server communication and performance improvements. This team works closely with our core playback team, to deliver a fantastic playback experience to our members across the globe, whether streaming on TV Consumer devices or on Web browsers at Netflix.com.

Requirements

  • You have 5+ years of experience leading or managing high-performing software engineering teams.
  • You have 5+ years of experience leading and building solutions for test development, automation, and quality release management.
  • You are technically strong to dive deep as needed and facilitate strategy, trade-offs and zoom out to understand the big picture and shape the product.
  • You have experience with application and tooling development using TypeScript and NodeJS.
  • You are able to build and own a well-prioritized roadmap that balances foundational and feature needs.
  • You proactively give and receive feedback and are not afraid to have difficult conversations.
  • You have exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
