About The Position

In this position you will: Provide technical leadership for polymer formulation and cable extrusion technologies, overseeing equipment optimization, material selection, and process performance to enhance product quality, reduce variability, and drive continuous improvement for the Operations organization. Lead global project teams, managing technical scope of project execution. Oversee internal and external resources. Transfer knowledge from NPI to Operations. Enforce DFM in NPI process. Drive successful scale-up. Employ DOE, conduct root cause investigations to resolve product challenges related to design, fabrication, or application. Serve as technical advisor to Sourcing team for strategic material changes. Discover, qualify, and integrate new and advanced technologies. Provide thought leadership through technical reports, published papers, seminars, and active participation in industry associations and technical conferences. Manage a team of laboratory technicians. Define, prioritize, monitor, and hold team members accountable for work progression including tracking and reporting task backlog, cycle-time, and on-time completion. Conduct recruitment activities. Conduct performance reviews and reinforce individual development plans. You have: MS or equivalent degree in science or engineering (materials, metallurgy, ceramics, polymers, chemistry, chemical engineering). PhD desirable. Strong background in polymer processing including formulation, compounding, and extrusion. Experience with carbon black or conductive inks is desirable. Practical experience designing for manufacturing and scaling up in a production environment. Proven success collaborating with global teams and leading cross-functional technical projects. Experience managing direct reports. Experience mentoring junior engineers. A passion for taking initiative. Proven success running multiple simultaneous projects. Excellent communication skills with emphasis on team dynamics. Comfortably influencing peers and leadership. Knowledge of global hazardous and non-hazardous area approvals for electrical equipment is desirable.

Requirements

  • MS or equivalent degree in science or engineering (materials, metallurgy, ceramics, polymers, chemistry, chemical engineering)
