Role Definition The Manufacturing Technology & Solutions organization aims to drive manufacturing excellence across the enterprise. This is an opportunity to join the MT&S team as an Engineering Manager for the Machining Technologies Team. The Machining Technologies team serves as the enterprise-wide technical resource for advancing technology in the machining space, as well as providing our facility partners with crucial problem-solving expertise.

Requirements

Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
Managing People: Knowledge of processes involved in managing people; ability to lead successful teams and diligently address issues related to performance and conflicts at the workplace.
Collaborating Globally: Knowledge of effective collaboration techniques and ability to build networks with people from different countries and cultures, think and work with them to bring positive impact and flourishing business results.
Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.

Nice To Haves

Advanced degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering.
Experience with research and development projects.
Ability to lead teams of 10+ people that are geographically dispersed

Responsibilities

Managing staffing, development, and performance management programs for engineering teams; motivating and developing project and team leaders.
Driving machining technology innovation and quality improvements to provide process and technology leadership.
Managing the engineering staff and activities with an emphasis on organizational goals aligned to strategic planning. These activities will include budgeting, forecasting, and governance for manufacturing projects.
Collaborating across global teams, vendors, and academic partners.
Providing specialized engineering technical support and consulting services to various areas of the organization.
