About The Position

ASG is seeking an Engineering Manager / Leader to support the Naval Special Warfare Command Technology Office. This role provides technical and engineering leadership for the design, development, and deployment of modern data, application, and AI enabled solutions supporting the NSW Common Digital Foundation. The Engineering Manager combines hands on technical leadership with project execution and stakeholder coordination, ensuring the rapid delivery of high quality, secure, and scalable systems in a government SETA environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Ten or more years of experience writing production code.
  • Ten or more years of industry experience in an engineering management or technical leadership role within a Scrum based environment.
  • Demonstrated experience optimizing and scaling engineering teams.
  • Strong background in systems engineering, networking, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in code review and technical quality assurance.
  • Hands on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, infrastructure tooling, and automated testing.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and deployment across build, validate, release, and operate phases,
  • Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to present complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting DoD or Special Operations customers.
  • Familiarity with AI and machine learning enabled systems.
  • Experience supporting modern data platforms and analytics ecosystems.
  • Prior experience working in a SETA role supporting government technical leads.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers delivering data, application, and AI enabled solutions.
  • Partner with government stakeholders and Product Owners to define and communicate the engineering roadmap and technical vision.
  • Execute day to day engineering activities, overseeing projects from planning through delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance and hands on support when required.
  • Contribute to the design and evolution of system architectures, capacity plans, and tooling strategies.
  • Drive technical architecture discussions and support decision making.
  • Ensure engineering activities align with security, compliance, and accreditation requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and timely technical documentation including architectures, designs, and technical artifacts.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies related to developer infrastructure, automation, and AI.
